Hosted FPSE failover licenses are used when you are hosting your
own Floating RLM license server and would like RTR to host your failover
license servers. Please refer to the RTR FPSE website for more
details about
Failover licenses.
Hosted Failover License Server Requirements:

Host ID of the primary RTR FPSE License Server
- used to obtain your original license

DNS Name or IP address of the primary RTR FPSE License Server
Hosted Failover License Server Purchase
- Go to the RTR FrontPage Server
Extensions shopping cart
- Select "More Info" button in the FPSE Failover license
Hosted section to
proceed to the next page
- Enter the Host ID of the Primary RTR FPSE License Server where
prompted
- Enter the IP address or DNS name of the Primary RTR FPSE License
Server where prompted
- Select the "Add to cart" button to proceed to the next page
- Verify that your information is correct on the Cart Contents page
- Use the Shopping Cart Home button to repeat the process to
purchase additional Hosted Failover licensees for other Primary License
Servers
- Use the Checkout button to complete your purchase and obtain your
RTT FPSE Hosted Failover license
RTR FrontPage Server Extensions Server Configuration - Required
To configure the Hosted failover setup, you will need to add 3 files to
your IIS server.

Password file (1): Within a few minutes of your purchase you should
receive an email with an attached password file; this email will be
sent to the address you used during PayPal checkout. Save a copy of
the attached password file into the c:\Program Files (x86)\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\50\ directory (the same
directory as rtrfpse.lic).

You must save
the password file using the name from the attachment (rtr_fpse.pwd).
The important thing is to put your password file with the same
name onto your machine in the c:\Program Files (x86)\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\50\ directory (the
same directory as rtrfpse.lic).

If
you misplace the password file from the email: after purchasing
your license, you can visit the Password
Retrieval page,
enter your email address, click "Request Password", then copy the
password into a rtr_fpse.pwd file on your machine in the
c:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server
Extensions\50\ directory (the same directory as rtrfpse.lic).

Start a notepad and edit a new file c:\Program Files (x86)\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\50\rtrfpseFail2.lic

Remove any text from the file
Enter the following line and then SAVE and Close the file:

SERVER
license2.rtr.com ISV rtr port=5052

Start a notepad and edit a new file c:\Program Files (x86)\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\50\rtrfpseFail3.lic

Remove any text from the file
Enter the following line and then SAVE and Close the file:

SERVER
license3.rtr.com ISV rtr port=5052
Important: Do not edit or alter your current rtrfpse.lic file. |
