Determining Your Site Count and Maximum Subwebs

The RTR FrontPage Server Extensions are licensed both per maximum sites and per maximum subwebs.

Maximum Sites

To determine your site count on a given machine perform the following steps:

• Visit the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
• Expand the node for the machine
• Expand the node for "Sites" and count the sites
• Count all sites even if they will not be extended with the FrontPage Server Extensions
• Do not count one Microsoft SharePoint Administration website and one Exchange websites
• Do not count FTP only sites

 Maximum Subwebs

Method 1: To determine your subweb count, open each site in FrontPage and count the subwebs. This number will apply as the maximum on all sites; every site must be licensed at this maximum number.

Method 2 (alternate):

To determine your subweb count for a site perform the following steps:

• Visit the Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager
• Expand the node for the machine

For each site listed

• Select a Site node
• Expand the node for the site
• Select the Content View tab in the Content window
• Select the _vti_pvt folder to expose the contents
• Select the services.cnf file and open it with a text editor such as notepad
• Count the subwebs listed
