The RTR FrontPage Server Extensions Failover licenses are:

Priced at only $25.00 USD per Primary Host ID

Failover licenses are one year renewable licenses

Available for purchase online, with immediate online delivery
Failover License Server Requirements:
-
The RTR Failover License Server must be run on
a physical Windows box (which does not have to be running IIS - it can
be a Windows XP/2003/Vista/7/2008 box).

You may use any regular (physical) Windows PC
on your network as the RTR FPSE Failover License Server as long
as the IIS servers have network access to the RTR Failover License
Server machine.

You do not need to run the Failover License
Server on the same machine as the IIS 8.5, IIS 8 or IIS 7.5 server and the RTR FrontPage
Server Extensions.

Host ID of the primary RTR FPSE License Server
- used to obtain your original license

Host ID of the Failover License Server - use
the same process on the Failover License Server that you used to
obtain your primary Host ID

Failover License Server Purchase
- Go to the RTR FrontPage Server
Extensions shopping cart
- Select "More Info" button in the FPSE Failover license section to
proceed to the next page
- Enter the Host ID of the Primary RTR FPSE License Server where
prompted
- Enter the Host ID of the Failover Server where prompted
- Select the "Add to cart" button to proceed to the next page
- Verify that your information is correct on the Cart Contents page
- Use the Shopping Cart Home button to repeat the process to
purchase additional Failover licensees for other Primary License
Servers
- Use the Checkout button to complete your purchase and obtain your
RTT FPSE Failover license
Failover License Server Configuration - Required
- Install Failover License Server (rlm.exe) on the Failover License
Server machine (identical process to the primary RTR FPSE License
Server)
- Place the Failover license in the same location as the Failover
License Server (rlm.exe)
- Place a copy of the license(s) from the Primary license server on
the Failover license server in the same location as the Failover
License Server (rlm.exe) and the Failover license.
- Edit the Failover license to change localhost value in "_failover_host=5053@localhost"
to be the IP address or name of the primary server
- Example _failover_host=
- Save and Exit the file
- Open a command window and navigate to location of the Failover
License Server program and license files
- On the command line, enter '"rlm.exe" to start the Failover
License Server
RTR FrontPage Server Extensions Server Configuration - Required
- Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\50
- Using a text editor, edit your current RTR FPSE license or create
a new failover license file on the RTR FPSE server
- All RTR FPSE license names must have an extension of ".lic" to be
recognized and processed by the Primary RTR FPSE License Server and
the Failover License Server
- Add the following line to the file: HOST failover.mydomain.com any
5053
- Replace the value "failover.mydomain.com" with the name or IP
address of the Failover License Server
- Save and Exit the file
